About DiskFox

DiskFox is a Mac app that shows what's using your storage, what changed and when, and what's safe to remove. It's made by Krishan Assi, an independent developer in the UK.

Who makes it

DiskFox is made and sold by Krishan Assi, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as DiskFox. There's no larger company behind it: the guides on this site say “we”, but the person who builds the app is the person who answers your email.

What DiskFox is for

macOS shows how full your disk is today. DiskFox keeps a dated history of your storage, so it can tell you what grew, when, and the likely cause. It also estimates what's inside System Data, draws a storage map, lists your largest files, finds exact duplicates and shows apps with the data they keep. Nothing is removed until you review it, and most items go to the Trash.

The current version is 1.3.0, released 26 October 2026, for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Every version is listed in the release notes.

How the guides are written and checked

• Each guide answers one question people ask about Mac storage, with the short answer first.
• Facts link to their source, with Apple's own support pages first.
• When we measured something ourselves, the guide says on which Mac and when.
• Every claim about what DiskFox does is checked against what the app actually does.
• Other apps' prices and features come from their makers' own pages, with the date we checked. We say where we make DiskFox, and we don't give scores or star ratings.
• A guide's “Updated” date changes only when its facts or advice change.
• The guides never suggest turning off macOS's security protections or deleting system folders by hand.

Privacy

DiskFox measures everything on your Mac. File names and contents never leave it, and there are no accounts. Three anonymous usage counts are on by default, and you can turn them off in Settings. The details are in the privacy policy.
