Release notes
DiskFox 1.0.6
6 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- The Buy button shows the price in your currency, the same price the checkout charges: for example £7.99 in the UK and €8.99 in countries that use the euro.
DiskFox 1.0.5
6 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- If DiskFox can't read a place it measured before, for example after Full Disk Access is turned off, What Changed now says so, with the reason and a button to Privacy & Access. Those places keep their last size, so Storage Trends no longer shows a drop that looks like a cleanup, and when access returns DiskFox says so without counting the gap as growth.
DiskFox 1.0.4
6 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- When DiskFox starts at login in the menu bar, the menu-bar panel now shows your storage straight away. Before, it stayed empty until you opened the main window, and automatic checks, storage alerts and the Trash check waited too.
DiskFox 1.0.3
6 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- Home still shows what's free right now, and now adds a line when macOS also counts purgeable space, for example “Up to 108 GB once macOS clears purgeable space”. That's the figure System Settings shows: room macOS frees by itself, such as local Time Machine snapshots and iCloud files it can download again. The sidebar and the menu-bar panel say the same.
- Clean Up now covers uv, Poetry, Bun and conda caches, and lists downloaded Hugging Face models one by one. Models are never ticked to start with, and uv and conda use their own clean-up commands, so nothing they rely on breaks.
- DiskFox now includes an Internet Access Policy, so Little Snitch shows what each of its two connections is for: update checks, and checking a licence you've bought.
DiskFox 1.0.2
5 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- Text Size: make all the text in DiskFox bigger in Settings › General › Text Size, or press ⌘+ and ⌘− (⌘0 goes back to the usual size). Every DiskFox window follows it, including the menu-bar panel.
- During the free trial, the sidebar shows how many days are left, with Buy or Enter Key… so you can buy DiskFox or enter your licence key before the trial ends. The DiskFox menu has both too.
- Explore › Applications now finds apps that came inside a folder in Applications, such as Adobe's, and Spotlight and the menu-bar search find them too. If removing one needs an administrator password, DiskFox says so and points you to the app's own uninstaller.
- If two copies of the same app are installed, uninstalling one leaves the settings and caches they share unticked, so the other copy keeps them.
DiskFox 1.0.1
5 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- The free trial is now 14 days. If you started a trial in DiskFox 1.0, it now runs for 14 days from the day you started it, so a trial that had ended may open again.
DiskFox 1.0
5 October 2026 · macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. The first public release.
- Home shows how much space is free, what uses it, what to clean up first and what changed this week.
- What Changed compares your scans and explains each change. Causes macOS can't confirm are labelled “Likely”, with a confidence level.
- Clean Up starts with caches and leftovers that can go to the Trash. Nothing is removed until you review it.
- Explore lists your largest files, your applications with their data and caches, and exact duplicates.
- Activity keeps Storage Trends and a Cleanup History of what moved and how free space changed.
- Storage alerts warn you when something you watch grows back or goes over a limit you set.
- Apple Intelligence guidance: what its models use, and what macOS manages for you.
- A menu bar panel with free space, what uses it and what's ready to clean up.
- App sizes in Spotlight: type an app's name to see how much space it uses.
- Automatic updates, which DiskFox asks you about before it checks.
